Shared lecture day! Yeah!

“[Tuesday 19:07] Sean Hall:

Laughter is sometimes a saving grace. It lightens and forgives. But in doing this it can also protect. When it protects in the way I have in mind it is often produced from a hidden position of power that all too often gives the producer of the laughter (in the presence of, say, an audience) a way to humanise themselves. There are, of course, various ways in which this can happen. But for reasons of space, my focus here will be the way in which the production of laughter works though the person we call 'the idiot’.”

(From Teams Message)

Morning lecture by Sean talks about the idiot and the use of idiotic approach to achieve fresh outcomes in design.

The idiot always tends to speak the truth, either directly or metaphorically in the literature works, since he is the character out of the restriction of the story structure and common sense.

We can also become idiot, by thinking “X is not meant to Y”.

Being an apple is not mean to scare the doctors and keep them away.

And I received an interesting reply from my mate:

Being an apple doesn't mean you can hit Newton on the head.

Maybe this design log can also be carried on in an idiotic approach, the design log does not mean to self-exposure?
