I went the GTC last week to look for the image of hat appeared on the fashion magazine Vogue across the years.

I also talked with Jane about my observation of the decline of the necessity of wearing a hat. She suggested a new perspective, the religion factor (since women's hair should be covered in some religious or church practice) and the rising and rebellious power of the youth culture in 1960s.
